BORN TODAY, in Oudenaarde, in the Flemish Province of East Flanders – Marguerite Victorine Zéphirine Anne De Riemaecker-Legot, the first Belgian women to serve as a Government Minister.

First and Second Balkan Wars: The Greek foreign ministry seeks an alliance with the Serbian government after Macedonia has been successfully taken from the Turks. The Bulgarians, the third party to the First Balkan alliance, consider their claim to much of Macedonia to have been frustrated by Greek and Serbian successes. (Thes)Salonika lies at heart of the dispute.

Society and Culture:  Ernst Franz Bernhard, Furst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, the 6th Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg  (Now part of Baden-Wurtemburg in Germany), a Prussian Cavalry General, dies in Langenburg, aged71 years.
