BORN TODAY: in Tigerah, Noatak-Kobuk, Alaska – Carl Kenouk Tuzroyluke.

Exploration – In Alaska, Hudson Stuck, an Alaskan missionary and three companions make the first successful ascent of Mount McKinley, known in the Athabaskan tongue as Denali (the high one). At 20,320 feet it was then, and is now, the highest peak in North America.

Labour Relations: To support the New Jersey strike of silk workers (the “Paterson silk strike”)  New York artists organize a pageant play in Madison Square Garden which draws large crowds.
