BORN TODAY: – place unknown – Jurgen Konenkamp, Kapitanleutnant of U-boat 375 which sank 10 ships and damaged another between July 1942 and July 1943. Died in the Mediterranean on 30 July 1943, aged 29.

~ The three masted iron and steel barque, “Glamis” strikes the reef off the east end of Grand Cayman in the Caribbean, where she lies, broken and sea bleached, to this day.
